How to Build and Pray for Nations (basic elements) - Pray for a Nation to adopt these basic building blocks.
God’s Purpose for Man, the Family, Church, and Civil Government

B. Discipling nations begins in the heart
But, we also need to love God with all our mind. (Mark 12:30)
We need to think like He thinks
We need a Biblical worldview - The Truth Project

“But as I told him, and he told the King that the Tower was the worst argument in the world to convince me; for whoever was in the wrong, those who used force for Religion could never be in the right.”
E. Penn in the Tower of London
“My prison shall be my grave before I will budge a jot; for I owe my conscience to no mortal man.”

XVII What relationship should there be between church and state?
* As institutions, the church, state, and family must be separated.
* But God cannot be separated from government, anymore than he can be from the family or the church. They are all divine institutions.

2. Who is the source of law in a society?
*The source of law in a society is the god of that society
Pray for a Nation to adopt these basic building blocks.
XIX A Biblical relationship of God and government:
* Government and laws should be built upon God’s higher law
“Happy is he who keeps the law.”
* Rulers should be Christian and uphold God’s law
XX John Jay, first Supreme Court chief Justice
“Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the duty, as well as the privilege and interest, of our Christian nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers.”
Pray for a Nation to adopt these basic building blocks.
XXI Other civil teachings of Jesus needed to disciple nations include:
1. Civil government is a divinely ordained institution with limited powers (Gen. 9:6; Jn. 19:11; Rom. 13:1)
2. Government is to serve all men equally
3. Individuals have inherent value
4. Government is due the taxes and services of its citizens
5. Social change is to be gradual and democratic, from the internal to the external
6. Mosaic law is applicable today
7. Political and legal means can be used to achieve social justice
8. Governmental injustice is to be resisted through protest, flight, and force in self-defense
9. Military strength can be used to maintain peace
Pray for a Nation to adopt these basic building blocks.
XXII Education is a key element in discipling the nations.
* Biblical education is a means of bringing God’s kingdom on earth.
* Present-day state education is the means of bringing man’s kingdom on earth.
* Biblical or Kingdom education must be restored
XXIII Appropriate action will follow prayer and education
As we are filled with the presence and Word of God, and are taught a Biblical worldview, we will know where and how to act to bring about the discipling of our nation. This action will effect all spheres of life.
XXIV The price we must pay to disciple the nations is great.
* We must take up our cross.
* If we bear the cross we will obtain the crown.
XXV William Penn
Since Penn gladly bore the cross, he also received a crown.
XXVI Penn was reconciled with his father.
“Son, William, let nothing in this world tempt you to wrong your conscience.”
